Darklore Volume 1

I’m pleased to announce that the title of the Daily Grail anthology is Darklore, and it will be a regular journal of exceptional observations, hidden history, the paranormal and esoteric science (all the stuff us Grailers love), by only the best writers and researchers in the alternative field. The book files are in the printer’s hands as we speak, so hopefully it will be available for ordering in a fortnight or so (just in time for Halloween…cue spooky, demented laugh).

For those that would like a sneak peek at how Darklore looks, I’ve uploaded a few sample shots of the essay title pages (double page spread): my essay on the sounds of ‘border phenomena’, Robert Schoch’s Sphinx discussion, and Blair Blake’s incredible Roswell tale. For the other 15, you’ll have to buy the book (okay, maybe I’ll show a few more next week…big softie that I am.) Spread the word…Darklore is coming!

  1. Sneak peek
I’ve had a sneak peek, and I can honestly say without bias that Darklore Volume 1 is excellent, you’re all going to love it. The title might conjure images in your head of 1980s Death Metal albums, but the content is awesome. Darklore is a must-read.

      1. 1980s Death Metal
What’s wrong with Death Metal? Just the haircuts and tight jeans, and the vocalists sound like dying blowflies. 😉

Many classic ’80s Death Metal bands have been touring Oz lately. 2007 has been one big Death Metal festival, it’s been crazy. Cannibal Carcass, Napalm Death, Vomitory, Rabbit Roadkill (ok, I made that one up), Sepultura (a band that won my admiration by campaigning for Amazonian tribes and telling Sting to stick his ingratiating charity where the sun doesn’t shine. I actually owned two of their albums once, right next to Enya), and many others I’ve blocked from my memory. I saw a kid wearing a Napalm Death tshirt the other week and thought to myself, “Pfft, he wouldn’t have a clue who they are”, and then I saw the tour poster later that day and felt rather sheepish and old.

I was just teasing, by the way. Darklore is a great name. Love the cover design too.

    1. Must buy
I have a personal mantra not to purchase clutter. Yes I consider books clutter, so I get mine from my local library. For this, however, I may make an exception. It sounds too good to pass up. Thanks for the update and good luck!

        1. Darklore
Looks good, Greg. Well done. But the announcement could be polluted by all this Death Metal stuff. All I can say is, as a kid who got excited when I heard Led Zep was forming, ‘piffle.’ I come from the generation of real rockers. Like this book will be a real book! 🙂

          1. Can’t wait!
My hands are already coveting to hold a copy!

Gotta go. Out of PEARL JAM for my morning toast 😉

It’s not the depth of the rabbit hole that bugs me…
It’s all the rabbit SH*T you stumble over on your way down!!!
