Long-timer readers of the Grail will know that we think the subject of the possible survival of consciousness beyond death deserves much more open, honest scientific inquiry (see my book Stop Worrying, There Probably is an Afterlife for a good run-down of some of the themes). So it’s great to see that Netflix is about to debut a documentary series talking to the scientists researching this topic – like Professors Bruce Greyson and Jim Tucker – and some of the ‘experiencers’ whose stories they have investigated: Surviving Death.
Based on the book of the same name by Leslie Kean, the series…
…is an in-depth exploration into the possibility of an afterlife. Over six episodes, Surviving Death will explore questions that have been contemplated throughout time, such as: What does it mean to die? And, is death the end of our existence? Weaving together innovative new research with first-hand accounts from those who’ve been close to — and even experienced — death, the series takes viewers on an extraordinary journey into a world beyond human existence as we know it.

Surviving Death premieres on Netflix on January 6, 2021 – I’m looking forward to watching this one!
