With news on the UFO topic being dominated by gossip from government ‘whistle-blowers’ since the 2017 New York Times story about the Pentagon’s “mysterious UFO program”, I’ve often warned others about my concerns about people – especially those in the intelligence/psy-op business – manipulating the public’s interest in the topic for their own purposes. As part of that warning, I often recommend Jacques Vallee’s Messengers of Deception: UFO Contacts and Cults – which we published a new paperback edition of some time ago – as some topical reading, to avoid being sucked into rabbit holes like much of ‘UFO Twitter’ seems to have been in recent years.
However, many people these days no longer read physical books, and instead read ebooks instead. So I’m happy to announce that we’ve just released Jacques Vallee’s Messengers of Deception as a Kindle ebook. This also brings down the cost of purchasing the book considerably, making it more affordable for those on a budget.
In Messengers of Deception, first published in 1979, Vallee foresaw the dangers of people being sucked into dangerous UFO beliefs – one of the groups he covered at length would later make global news as the Heaven’s Gate cult that had 39 members die in a mass suicide in 1997. While the original book is now some 45 years old, Vallee’s insights and warnings remain completely valid – perhaps even moreso – with the rise of social media influencer culture (and all the misinformation that goes along with it) in modern times.
While we’ve just released it as a Kindle ebook for now, we’re hoping to also release versions on some of the other ebook stores out there in the near future, such as Apple and Google’s stores, so if you’re an ebook reader but avoid Amazon then keep your eyes out for it soon.
