Last month the Parapsychological Association (PA) hosted their 61st annual conference, and I’m really pleased to see that they’ve already been posting some video of the presentations to YouTube.
We’ve already posted Jacques Vallee’s brilliant talk at the conference (on the ‘software of consciousness’, and the secret psychic history of the web) here at the Grail, but it’s also worth checking out some of the other fascinating presentations, including the one I’ve embedded below: the Presidential Address by legendary psi researcher Dr. Dean Radin.
In his talk, Dean discusses both the origins, and future, of parapsychology, as well as integrating material from his most recent book, Real Magic, about the overlap between scientific psi research and esoteric traditions.
His overall point: that consciousness appears to be fundamental, the building block upon which everything else sits.
It was also a nice surprise to see Dean post one of our books (Talking With the Spirits: Ethnographies from Between the Worlds) as an example of the good literature out there at the moment in which academics take an honest, open look at ‘magical’ topics.
