Collective Brainwashing & Modern Concentration Camps

This is a clip from the highly-recommended film My Dinner with Andre (1981), which you can actually watch complete on Youtube. Incredible how after more than 30 years, this discussion seems more relevant than ever.

The movie mentions Findhorn repeatedly, which is a famous spiritual community and education center founded in Scotland in the early 1960s, based on the mutual cooperation between Man and the spirits of Nature. Robert Ogilvie Crombie (a.k.a. Roc), the illustrious Scottish mathematician is also mentioned in the film; Crombie was one of the original founders of Findhorn, and used to be hardcore materialist until they day when he allegedly had an ecounter with a faun, at which point his life experienced a dramatic shift toward Mysticism, magickal practices and communication with elemental entities –The book The Gentleman and the Faun [Amazon US & UK] is based on those encounters.

Nice one RPJ! I remember watching this wonderful movie when it was released.
Ironically I was working in Hollywood in the industry at the time
and looking towards a future filled with all the shiny things we all crave lol, eventually I got wise and saw the BS for what it was and just could not live with myself knowing this and being a part of it,
so I got rid of everything, stuck on a backpack, and thumbed (literally) my way out, spent more than 5 years on the road living out of that pack, it was the most free I have ever felt, I miss that feeling now.
If your interested in the ideas the film suggests you may find this
BBC documentary: “The Century of the self”

—–Also of great interest, an in depth look at the inventor of public relations
(propaganda) Edward Bernays; Sigmund Freud’s Nephew..Psychology much?
IMO this documentary is very enlightening and I have watched it many times and learn something new each time I do 🙂
As for the idea of a safe place or Oasis? 😀 I found one idea (so far) that really intrigues me: Resource based economics, and at least the modern age idea for it can be seen here: https://www.thevenusproject.com/en/faq#faqnoanchor

    Enjoy!

    1. On the Road
Wow. That is an amazing story. I’m not sure I would have the strength of walking away of a comfortable life like that; like most hypocrites, I would have probably stayed and slowly killed myself with booze and fatty foods…

Have you written something about your experiences on the road?

BTW thanks for the links. I’ll be sure to check them out 🙂

      1. Thanks for the reply RPJ:)
        “I

        Thanks for the reply RPJ:)
“I would have probably stayed and slowly killed myself with booze and fatty foods…” That was pretty close to the situation but replace the fatty foods with an Oz per day cocaine habit (which I beat during those 5+ years on the road) plus all the crazy orgies and sex parties that go with the territory…and what is really amusing is people I tell this story to think I was lucky bastard and shoulda stayed!?
But I had this voice or something telling me this was all wrong, it’s a trap, a prison from which there is no escape once you are embedded in it…it was something I could not ignore unless I wanted to give up what I really was; A luminous being connected with “everything”.
And yes the thought has crossed my mind of writing a book on my travels which was quite magical at times, but IDK maybe someday, or not…I kinda feel like these were my personal experiences and putting them in print may erode or lessen them in some way and also
IMO people should gain their own experiences and life lessons rather than armchair quarterbacking someone Else’s, it would be akin to watching TV all the time and thinking “this is how I should be” when in reality it is someone Else’s idea of what life is about…. like my most fav quote from Tim Leary “think for yourself, challenge authority” the think for yourself part is all that really matters
when all is said and done, so live “your” life, gain your own experiences, walk your own path, if you should happen to meet someone on that same path then rejoice in it, you have found a kindred spirit, but sadly there is no guarantee of that happening.
PS…please to not misunderstand me, your writing I really enjoy, especially your recent journey to be acquainted with mescalito I
really liked…don’t give up on that, you will meet him eventually.
And it is my choice to write about my travels or not just as it is your choice for your own, keep up the good work:)

        1. Personal experiences
I can respect that. And you’re right: People should strive to have their own personal experiences, instead of living by proxie through somebody else’s 🙂

          1. A thought to piggy back the
A thought to piggy back the discussion, as Rico says he left his cush job and traveled the road for 5 years, and as RPJ stated rather than sitting around eating fatty foods… Once we leave the microcosm of our earthly physical lives and expand our perception to a larger macrocosm of an eternal soul on a journey of growth in this physical and other dimensions, in which this lifetime is just one moment, than not becoming trapped in a prison of self-making, no matter how comfortable is the only wise choice. Getting out and experiencing life, taking risk, making mistakes and learning from them and growing as an individual in this life, in order to grow and evolve our soul for this and all future lives is not only our best choice, but our eternal purpose. But without a larger spiritual philosophy, it becomes too easy to sleepwalk through life, eating, drinking, having sex, watching tv and never growing nor evolving…
