“No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn…”

A tower of thanks to RPJ, GT and RMG!! Much appreciated!

  1. Take us, we’re yours
Re: Are we seeing more UFOs, because our conscience is ready?

“A significant development or event that has constructive effects on the human race is sometimes the topic of theories and hopes.

Some viewpoints propose that this will be the result of tipping points of various kinds related to human progress and improved human consciousness.

In the new NBC TV show “The Event,” we don’t really know what it will be.

That program seems to dovetail with the idea of “UFO disclosure” – that extraterrestrial, inter-dimensional, time-traveling or some other kinds of intelligent beings will make more open contact with humanity, or there will be some public acknowledgment of this situation.”

There are many who feel that humanity is on the verge of some glorious revelation. Be it UFO disclosure or singularity with our technology or the discovery that mankind began as an alien experiment, the preferred view is that… whatever it finally is, it will usher in a new age of peace and understanding.

Along with the blissful expectations has also come a willingness to surrender personal liberty in favor of a new group-think paradigm. Recent articles on the web suggest that man’s faiths and religions would be forcefully removed. The right to choose what one believes would be erased. The old term ‘thought police’ suddenly takes on an ominous countenance.

What is now being mostly ignored, is that change is never anything but painful.

Even change for the good, begins with suffering. When you were born, your mother also bore the pain of that event. Nations are begun with bloody revolutions. Tyrants are toppled by years of conflict and death. And as history clearly shows, even discovery walks hand in hand with death as explorers give their lives in their search for the unknown.

Rather than some wonderful moment of enlightenment, it is far more likely that all those hidden truths, will come with a price. The tipping point is probably more akin to a trip-wire that will unleash forces that we will have no ability to ourselves effect. We will be caught up in the whirlwind of those changes without a parachute.

As a race, we really are currently primed for the taking. and I do mean, really. Ripe for the picking.

In fact, we do seem to want to be taken advantage of as long as the lies meet our expectations.

“… and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind.”

There’s a somewhat dated video I found, dealing with UFOs, scripture and the end times. It is all done very tastefully with excellent commentary. I’m not sure if it ever made it here to TDG… and I really haven’t looked too closely to find out. But thought I’d cap this with a link.

  2. TED Quackery
Browsing at the list of TEDx Brussels’ scheduled speakers, it seems that McTaggart is the least of the heretics invited —Frank Tipler? Stuart Hameroff? heavens, what they were thinking?!

Now I can’t wait to see the video of her conference 😉

    1. Ted quackery
Bloggers like that bug me, because they just dismiss everything with this kind of 19th-century philosophical materialism.

Isn’t there ANYbody that can sell the age-old idea of mind-over-matter to the stiffs like this guy? Wayne Dyer?

And most of the folks in ‘what-the-bleep’ have pretty good credentials even if they were speculating a bit beyond the ‘official story’ —yes they coulda left out Ramtha altogether.

The new ‘atheists’ are like older kids who think they’re really cool becasue they don’t believe in Santa Claus anymore.

      1. Hint of bias
You get a slight hint of the author’s bias right at the beginning:

You can view hundreds of these talks online from great thinkers, such as Richard Dawkins, the inspirational, such as Brian Cox, and the influential, such as Bill Clinton.

So I guess this guy thinks only the cool guys —atheists— should be allowed to be invited at the TED talks.

It reminds me of a recent discussion I was having at the Paracast forums: the moment someone praised Michael Shermer by saying that “only the brightest get to speak at the TED talks” I couldn’t resist adding a link to the Kary B. Mullis presentation Greg posted here a while back 😉

        1. If I may…
There is a new mass, group-think paradigm coming. It is currently advancing from several directions but they will meet and join.

I think the challenge will be to remain independent of it and still be able to function as part of the whole. The TED is only a single junction.

          From the TED Mission Statement:

“We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and ultimately, the world. So we’re building here a clearinghouse that offers free knowledge and inspiration from the world’s most inspired thinkers, and also a community of curious souls to engage with ideas and each other.”

Ideas to change the world, not truth. Concepts that will redirect humanity…
