Come on, everybody – sing along: It’s a jungle out there! ‘Cause after reading today’s news, you’ll have a deeper appreciation of the line Do you know what’s in the water that you drink? Well, I do – and it’s amazing!

Quote of the Day:

I feel like King Canute, with the rising ocean tide I cannot stem.
I’m very slightly worried that if the next book focuses on the Freemasons, then there will be mention of the Knights Templar. [Which would be a problem because …] We were built by the Knights Templar. It will all start again.

Robin Griffith-Jones, master of the Temple Church in London, regarding the increased tourism at Temple Church spurred by The Da Vinci Code.

  1. Brown’s Take of Freemasons…
I do not know who “critic: is in that BBC article referenced through the link. I do know, however, that his comments reflect a snobbish, sophomoric bias and really have no place in the article.

It’s a typical BBC article, inthat it refuses to simply state the facts and let the reader form a conclusion, but rather has to put a “BBC Approved” spin on it, to “push” the reader toward the conclusion the BBC wishes the reader to form.

Especially telling is “Critic’s” remark that Freemasonry is mysoginistic because it refuses to allow women. Well, excuse the heck me, but that’s pretty much what a “fraternity” is: all male. “Critic” might have been more honest by referring to the “Eastern Star” Fremasonry’s sorority, or the “Rainbow Girls” for young women.

I haven’t read the book as yet, but will soon. I’d be happy to offer my view of it as regards to Freemasonry at that time.

However, I would offer that it is listed as a work of fiction, and those who would read into it more than the telling of a good yarn would be well-advised to remeber that classification.

    Respects,

Very true. And yes, I think we’d all love a review of the book by actual members of the brotherhood 🙂

      1. Review..
        PRJ,

It would be my pleasure. It will likely be a week or two because I am up to my ears in real-world stuff. I hate that part of life, but that’s what helps pay the bills 🙂
