    If this prediction is correct, and if the sun doesn’t interfere with all of this, then one of my original points from a few years ago was correct – we should prepare to deal with it. Just lowering the CO2 output or even CO2 content will not help.

    So we should see how to deal with the negative effects, and exploit the positive ones.

    Aside from that, there is something that bothers me. This article is from the AFP, reported by Yahoo News. But AFP did not make this up, they read a NOAA report. As is typical of the news media, there is no reference to where one can find this report. Why are the prefessional news media in this habit? Does anyone know?

    Oh well I should just ask NOAA.

    1. A fly in an elevator
      I guess what we should try to do is preventing this situation from reaching the breaking point.

      Like that cartoon-like gag of an elevator full of people, and then comes the tiny fly that briefly rests on it, causing the rope to finally snap and sends the elevator plummeting down the shaft.

      We can try to deal with it as soon as possible, so that the next generations will have a less tough time adjusting, or we can do nothing, and let it escalate geometrically out of proportion.

      We could also try to grab the bull by the horns, and come up with a geo-engineering project that succesfully reverts the nastier side effects of it; but maybe that’s not such a great idea, given our current limitation in understanding how our planet works. It would be like trying to fix a moving vehicle without a wrench and without a full grasp of auto mechanics… then again, what is it they say about ‘desperate measures’?
