Parts of today’s news may come with CIA swarmbots.

The truly powerful feed ideology to the masses like fast food while they dine on the most rarified delicacy of all: impunity.

  1. Secret chamber may solve “Aztec” pyramid at Teotihuacan
…Er… pardon me senpai Rick-san, I’m aware a student shouldn’t presume to correct his teacher, but saying the pyramids at Teotihuacan are aztec is a big no-no.

How would our english friends feel if we began to say that Stonehenge is a roman ruin?
    😛

    1. Aztecs?
From the Telegraph’s article, with my bold:

At its zenith between 150 AD and 450 AD, Teotihuacan was home to up to 200,000 people of various ethnic origins and thought to have been larger than any European city at the time, including Rome.

But, sometime in the 7th or 8th century, it was set ablaze – possibly as the result of an insurrection – and abandoned.

The Aztecs believed the city was divine and identified it with the place where the sun was created. They also gave it its name, which roughly translates as “The place where men became gods.”

RPJ – looks like you need to straighten out both the Telegraph and the archaeologist at the site. 😉

      1. Let’s make things clear
We really don’t know much about the people who built that city. We don’t even know the name they gave to themselves or to the city itself. As the article states, the name Teotihuacan was given by the aztecs when they migrated to the Central Valley of Mexico.

But the aztecs never inhabited the city. They marveled at it and kept going ’til they reached the lake of Texcoco, were they founded Tenochtitlan.

Some mexican archeologists have suggested that Teotihuacan was the mythic Tula that is referred to in many legends, the problem is that there’s another city in Mesoamerica already called Tula, which is more recent than Teotihuacan—surely you guys have seen a photo like this at least once.

So yes, the blokes at the Telegraph might need to read a bit more before writing a title for their articles 😉

        1. Good grief
Well I’m embarrassed to admit this, but I never knew the pyramids of Teotihuacan weren’t built by the Aztec. I know the tale of the Aztec looking for a new home back to front too. To be fair, I probably did know, I’ve just forgotten. I forget a lot of things these days — and other days I can’t forget what I remember! My tinfoil hat might be a bit too tight.

I am ashamed. Shall I hand in my TDG badge and gun?

That’ll teach me for being lazy with the headline.

          1. Nah
Don’t sweat it senpai. Although next time you’ll be forced to become a Ronin, and roam the lands helping the needy until you cleanse your honor 😛

Like I wrote before, there are a lot of things we need to find out about these people who built this city. I mean, even the names given to the pyramids are just speculations. The archeologist sees two pyramids, one bigger than the other, and instantly assumes the bigger one must be the consecrated to the Sun, and the little one to the Moon; but it could be just the opposite for all we know!
