The February issue of Wired has a feature titled “What We Don’t Know“, which poses 42 of the “biggest questions in science”. The article throws in the obvious, such as how does consciousness arise, and what does ‘junk’ DNA do. Some of the others I wouldn’t describe as ‘big’, compared to possible topics such as ‘does consciousness survive death’, and how is instinctual behaviour transferred from one generation to the next. Got any to add to the list? Add a comment and let us know what you think the ‘big question’ is that needs answering.
