There’s plenty of fun to be had with Google Map’s new satellite feature. If you haven’t tried it out yet, head over there, making sure to click on the ‘Satellite’ option on the upper-right. Zooming in and out is done using the slider on the left.
For those interested in Dan Brown’s upcoming book The Solomon Key, you can check out all the likely locations by typing their name or address into the search bar – see my book Da Vinci in America for the candidates. For example, if you enter in ‘1733 16th Street NE, Washington, D.C.’, you’ll see the Scottish Rite’s “House of the Temple” – in fact, you can even see the step pyramid roof! Note that the White House and Capitol buildings are obscured though, obviously for security reasons…plenty of other landmarks to check out though.
If Dan Brown’s not your idea of an interesting topic, you could join this guy for a Google guided tour of Area 51 in Nevada. Any other ideas for locations to spy on?
