I thought it a worthwhile exercise to see where 'the skeptics' are coming from. There are some decent lessons in there, but the over-riding thing I took from it is that skeptics (in general) are simply too 'square' to ever convince the general public. If they want to get traction for their movement, they need the 'rock stars' of their movement (such as Penn Jillette) to run the show.

The squareness of it all was so much that I couldn't help but include the comment, "Duck and cover". ;)

I had to stop listening at that point because when it comes to bringing "good science" to the consumer Brian misses the entire point of the argument against big automakers. MONEY often does and will suppress good science. In reference to his point about automobiles, you bet you're ass auto companies suppress better engine technology if it doesn't grow the auto companies bottom line.
