Lost Tombs of the Maccabees

I had absolutely no idea such a thing ever existed. Apparently, there are more ancient wonders just laying under the soil waiting to be found.

Descriptions suggest seven (!) pyramids plus other structures originally visible from the Mediterranean Sea 18 miles away.

The Maccabean Revolt was organized by the Ptolemies and as part of their struggle against Seluecid rivals for control of Israel/Palestine. Mattathias was merely a Jewish alias of Ptolemy VI (Philometer), whose burial is also unknown but thought to have been in the vacinity of Alexandria of Egypt, land of the pyramids. So, if the location of Modi'in is solved, it likely will result in the discovery of Ptolemaic royal tombs as well!
