Miri Textiles is a wonderful blog, I've been following it for a while. I think she's onto something, with entoptic imagery woven in cloth & used for sacred purposes all over the world. As far as I know, the Toraja of Sulawesi don't use psychedelics of any kind, but they (and many other indigenous cultures in Southeast Asia) have a very rich (communal) dreaming tradition.
