Dawkins and his ilk are imbeciles. Not because they aren’t correct in many or their suppositions, but because they act worse than the people they claim are idiots for believing what they do. They act like the worst zealots on the planet and they say it’s necessary to beat the religious zealots. Huh? How is acting like an idiot going to beat an idiot? It ends up being two groups of idiots raving away, with rational people watching a rave-fest and not getting any message from it at all.
Acting like an idiot zealot isn’t going to attract anyone “to your side” that isn’t already on your side to begin with. If it’s that Dawkins has urges that need to be met because he’s so damn mad about the whole thing that he feels the need to yell and scream about it, then yea he’s just a good ole zealot. If he really wanted to convince people of his points, there are many better approaches to this than what he is doing. But I just don’t get the impression that is what he cares about.
