Ahoy
"Kat's away, so we mice can play."
Nice, nice!
And as for the sound of possums, I think koalas edge them out. Enough to keep any tourist up all night with the sheets pulled up under their chin...
Kind regards,
Greg

The sound of mating drop bears
Mating koalas sound like a Death Metal vocalist with a hoarse throat. Not to mention the noise Drop Bears make.
I really can't hear Bigfoot chatter in the sound clip, more like a snuffling bear. Here's a list of bear recordings for comparison, the closest is a brown bear. I'm sure Blogsquatcher could send the sound clip to a zoologist for analysis.
Paranormal TV

Yep
It's awful, isn't it?
Particularly, "People used to believe in magic until science began proving them wrong."
I have a simple solution to her problem -- turn off the tv.
I can see why it is
so popular to have these paranormal shows...
Have you seen the latest sitcoms and nighttime soaps?
THAT is what I call GAG!
at least paranormal isn't so boring! And... have you seen the handsome men they have in them? lol

As for the ghost thingy and such...
I was reading up on topics for my poem and found all these ads for people to stay in haunted hotels etc..
on purpose!

Ghosties
Public houses in the UK have gone mad in recent years. Landlords worked out that they can increase their custom if they have a good old ghost to advertise.
Let's raise the spirits to their entrepreneurialism :-)
Is that a word? Is it spelt right?

What? No Gore in today's news?
Not one comment about Al Gore and the IPCC receiving the Nobel prize. Not today and not in the past weekend. It's not that I want TDG to endorse it or anything, becase I know this site has been fair in giving both sides of the argument the benefit of the doubt. I just think that, you know, since climate change is a topic we grailers are interested in, there would be at least a mentioning of the event...

Gore
Hi Red,
There's plenty of gore in the ghost tales the landlords use to get customers to their public houses :-)

There's no IPCC in "peace".

Funny.
Here, I'll try to throw in a little balance.
UK Judge rules Gore film full of errors and propoganda:

Gore's Theories 'Ridiculous':

Exactly
I know you seriously doubt Gore's allegations Anon. Earthling (whom I have not seen around here in a while) is also of the same sentiment. This is definitely a topic where grailers like to make a stand to defend their opinions.
So, what do you think about Gore's prize? Pure political manipulation? Someone in the shadows pulling the strings?
Here in Mexico, I can tell you that the news of the prize was very well recieved, since more than 400 scientists from the Autonomous National University (UNAM) are members of the IPCC, so it's kind of a reason of national pride for some. At least I think it's good the mexican scientists are in the very front line of the most relevant scientific discussions.

Ayahuasca: Peruvian or Brazilian style
I've read a few testimonies of ayahuasca ingestion. The last one not too long ago (on 01-10-2007 ), I even commented a bit about it with Rho. (BTW Greg, don't you think it would be neat to have a search engine to look for past news and comments? just a suggestion to make TDG even cooler than it already is)
These testimonies were all made by people whi ingested ayahuasca under the amazonian tradition that's common in Brazil. Whereas thi new article describes how the quechua shamans of Peru perform their ayahuasca ingestion.
Maybe it's just the fear of compulsion vomiting and diarrhea bursts in front of strangers, but somehow the Peruvian tradition seems a more sensible approach!
Although ayahuasca tradition is not exclusive of Peru and Brazil alone. My brother-in-law who is from Ecuador, once told me one of his brothers took ayahuasca in an indian ceremony of their own country (possibly with aymaras, but I'm especulating here)
So what do you guys think? If trying for ayahuasca, would you go to Peru or Brazil?

Hi RPJ,
Coincidentally, I've just posted a new video on TDG which is a documentary about ayahuasca! Sorry to freak you out even more with your synchronistic day...
;)
I do believe that many of those who have used ayahuasca feel that the puking/crapping is part of the whole process of shedding bad things...a catharsis/purification of sorts. So some would argue that it's a necessary part of it all, I'm sure.
Kind regards,
Greg

Searching
(BTW Greg, don't you think it would be neat to have a search engine to look for past news and comments? just a suggestion to make TDG even cooler than it already is)
You mean like this one, which you can find in the main menu under the obscure title of 'Search'?
;P
Kind regards,
Greg

Seaching for search
Don't worry RPJ, it took me a couple of years to learn TDG has a search engine -- and I'm a news editor!
Pheew
That's a relief! Thanks guys. :-)

Re Search
I'm using Internet Explorer and 'Search' comes up in the list of stuff after my name once I've logged in. I haven't tried it, but guess that's what Greg is referring to. Have to admit that it's in a pretty obscure place!!
Happy hunting!
Regards, Kathrinn.
Oi!

That's the main menu! How can it be called obscure?
;)

Well...
it's just that you don't always go to the main menu when checking TDG Greg.
I'm just saying there's room for improvement in the interface :-)

Everyone should go to the main menu when they visit. It holds the magic link to 'recent posts'...any regular visitor should be using that.

Oi! Yourself!
My humble apologies, oh great white chief - I thought the main menu was what came up on the TDG page when it loaded, not what came up after logging in as a member, hence my comment. No offence was intended.
Most sincere regards, Kathrinn
hence
the confusion. I thought the main menu was up the top. Well, maybe I've been out of the puter world for too long.
