' They Hate Us Because of Our Freedom'
Posted by toxilogic at 15:25, 13 Oct 2005Hi,
Jameske posted this under the ' poetic' title boiling frog in his 12th of october TDG news post, im not sure this attracted the much needed interest. Attention needed not only from americans but from everyone on the planet. The tenure of the article maybe somewhat anarchic at times, nevertheless awareness is the first step to improvement.

"They hate us because of our freedoms, because of our way of life and our democracy" YEAH RIGHT!
That's presumably why places like Norway, Finland, Switzerland, Monaco (etc. etc.) are deluged under the weight of terrorist attacks - NOT!
I still am utterly aghast that the people of the world (and the US especially) haven't kicked up more of a fuss about the utter drivel that the BushInc administration keeps putting out.
I could go on - but I'm on nappy-changing duty - and duty calls!

We may not get past "Bush" in a few more years Oscar-Meyer... Tell me,O'scholarly one, what would you do when America bankrupts, and chaos is abound. Could you survive? I don't think so, you would so sniff butt and switch to whatever side would save your lilly arse. More than 60% want him out my man... research THAT! Then teach your students the truth.. ~Inkslinger

Many of you sound like you have depressed feelings here. I on the other hand am poor, have little left of my life (old) and never made it to the top of my field...but I am still trying. I have a positive outlook. I think we can overcome our problems. I know we can get better. Can we at least try to have a better attitude? Bush is not your problem, and if it were, you could do nothing about it. Think about things you can do...to make your lives better. Get some sun. Go to the park and walk. Stop drinking and taking drugs. Heck, life is good...the alternative is not so good.

"Many of you sound like you have depressed feelings here"
No, Oscar, I think the feelings of a lot of people on this site have been made perfectly lucid with regards to Bush and his entire administration (which extends out to his buddies in big corporates).
"I think we can overcome our problems. I know we can get better. Can we at least try to have a better attitude?"
Yes, America can get better - MUCH better. But why should it have to struggle through to the end of an administration that has proven again and again that it is incompetent (at ALL levels), cares only for the rich who benefit through huge tax cuts that the country cannot afford or sustain, is racist, sexist and xenophobic. The US people CAN demand change - it's in the constitution.
"Bush is not your problem, and if it were, you could do nothing about it."
Bush IS the problem, but he isn't the whole problem. There's Cheney too, and Rice, Rove, Wolfowitz, Card, Rumsfeld etc. etc. Also, the American people CAN do something about it - the constitution even makes allowance for this, and encourages people to question the words that the government tells them. Like many religions, the words that underpin their most fundamental beliefs, are twisted and reinterpreted to meet the hidden agendas of those pulling the strings. Politics in the US, and other "western" countries, have become way too "religious" in the way they conduct themselves. It's no longer an elected government by and for the people, it's a government that's elected to rule the people. Those in power have lost sight of what it is they're actually there to do. I'll remind them: they are there as servants of the people, to do what's best for them and act in their interests.
"Think about things you can do...to make your lives better. Get some sun. Go to the park and walk. Stop drinking and taking drugs. Heck, life is good...the alternative is not so good."
You totally crack me up, Oscar. Will going to the park stop bombs falling on innocent civilians in Iraq? Will it stop your own US troops from being killed in Iraq and Afghanistan? Will it stop the huge increase in exports of heroin from Afghanistan since the US invaded? Stop drinking and taking drugs? Holy sh1t, why? No one else is being hurt by people doing things in the privacy of their own homes. "Life is good" you say. Is it good for the people of Afghanistan and Iraq? Will it be good for Syrians and Iranians after the US's foreign policies are played out on foreign soil merely to serve the profit-making machine of US corporates? Will it be good for the families of the troops who will no doubt be lost in those needless conflicts?
WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE, OSCAR!

You are so smart, tell me what will fill the void left if we stop? Perhaps you should drink that coffee my friend. You are not thinking beyond your own bias toward Mr. Bush. But I would bet you would be so patriotic if someone like yourself had the reins of government in his hands.

I'm not a citizen of the US, nor do I have any interest in the US.
Therefore, to suggest that I'm biased against Bush is meaningless. I'm not pro-Bush or anti-Bush any more than I was pro- or anti-Kerry.
If anything, as a "non-interested" party regarding the US, I'm probably in a position to be more objective in my opinions towards a government's foreign and domestic policies. For the record, I'm just as critical of my own government's failings.
You need to learn to give credit where it's due, but more importantly to criticise where appropriate too.

Maybe so, maybe not if he changes the rules or declares martial law. In any case, can you in the US and us in the rest of the world afford those few years? With his track record to date we could all be dead by then. Wake up to reality.

Because of our working poor who can't afford health insurance. Who work two jobs. They hate brown people; hurricanes can work out really well for poor people they can be pushed about. They hate our public school system and all the millions of reading and math illiterates it produces. They hate our empty factories, our over paid CEO's that take job's oversea. They hate giving women the same money as a man. They hate us for our ass backward reproductive rights. They hate our bridges and highways that are falling apart. They hate us because... WE NEED AN ENEMY TO FIGHT AND KEEP THE WAR MACHINE RUNNING . NO MATTER THE COST TO ANYONE ELSE!!!

Are you trying to leverage a race thingy??? I am part brown and i love everyone...even those who hate me. I would do all I could for those who deserve help. Those who try. I help children to become great with their art and graphics. 95% of my former students are Brown and are successful. Life is not as bad as you think. Who are "they"??? Your words only make those who hate you feel like they have won. Words will never hurt you. Deeds hurt, so go do some good deeds and you will feel better. Perhaps someone will do one for you...we need a little more love here.

A new poll shows that only 2% of Blacks in the US think GWB is doing a good job. Yes polls can be warped, I know that you have gone on about it. But you know what I think Oscar. I think you are a lie. You are everything and everyone. If we had a thread about soft icecream you would have had a soft cone shop on Venice Beach. First you are rich ,then poor, then rich and now you are old ,poor and brown (part brown) You are an expert on drivel. Today it is brown drivel. I too live in the US and have had my ups and downs. I do care about others and do my best to be a better human and make the world a better place . But I will not put up with lies anymore, lies are WMD they hurt ,kill and tear up good things. The US is a lie that is fed to its non-thinking masses on TV , Film, and media every day in and out. Where most people work their butts off to have things that someone else told them they needed. Spinning our wheels till they come off. We are not the best, we are a nasty kid on the play ground. Till we become people of the world and get off the material death trap. We are the terrorist. Taking what we want and giving back nothing but a sharp slap for the blood and sweat of others. I can not support this goverment ,because it is not by and for the people. It is about looting and stealing. Everything from oil, pension plans, health care, funding for heating oil, and food for the poor. Robber Barons. And if you agree with them; whether you profit or not, you are part of the problem. Beyond the problem that you are to every thread you become involved in!
So Oscar you have a lovely day being white, brown, poor, old rich, democrate, republican, teacher, pollster, knowing GWB, living near the hurricans, living somewhere else, owner of many different business, an intelligence agent, my dad was a judge I'v worked in everything, and most importent. Thee expert in logical fallacies

In order to save you all the sordid details I will just give you the end results.
I determined that it is his right index finger and his nose.

seasons. I am mostly German, but I am also Cherokee and some folks in my family are hispanic. I am poor because I do not have the goods I once had, I have done many things because I have a very active mentality. So what is your problem, what have you done for us lately?

Oscar, you are truly a wet sack of big words and poot forth your ideals pretty poorly, Jack of all trades, master of none. It's your type of people that fuels The people to make changes for the better, so thank you for our support Oscar. I hope you get rich again soon...you can always get a part-time job at "Waffle" House! ~Inkslinger
P.S. I take it by tthe way you psycho analyze everyone that you were a pshycologist at one point too? (Oh boy, here we go with his book about himself AGAIN!)

We have gone off on a tangent that is never going to solve anything. We vent our frustrations on each other, and never accomplish anything. I am a fool for playing this game with you all. I hate what we have become. I once was much more considerate, but now I am pulled into this...???
I am out of here. You drove me away. God Bless you all...I have seen the Light and know I must go.
Peace and Regards
Bless you all
