The Day After Today
Posted by terry1094 at 19:08, 30 Jul 2005With the entry of India and China into the market for foreign oil, we have seen that peak oil production has moved closer in time than Hubbert predicted:

And if you're waiting on the South of France to save us with ITER, it's very likely that hot fusion will never become a viable source of energy:
But Low Energy Nuclear Reactions, touted by Fleischmann and Pons first in 1989 but supressed by Big Oil and MIT hot fusion researchers can save us. Unfortunately, the US Dept. of Energy refuses still to fund research into LENR:

Recently Haiko Lietz said that we need to support cold fusion research to the extent that the US supported Kennedy's Apollo Program in the 60's:

I say that we are too close to disaster. We will see rapid rises in the cost of energy every year from now on. We need to fund a LENR project like we funded the Manhattan Project in the 40s. Because the threat to freedom and humanity is greater today than it was then.
