Power of thoughts
Posted by spoon at 03:48, 31 Oct 2005I was watching the documentary "what the bleep do we know" and it got me thinking about a few things. For those unfamiliar with the documentary it talks mainly about quantum physics and the power of the mind and how we create reality.
It got me thinking about our planet and how there seems to be this global thinking now that the Earth is being destroyed whether it be from global warming or something different entirely. Perhaps this is happening because simply we think it is happening. Because the environment has become a big issue in the 21st century and we are bombarded with information telling us that the world is being destroyed then this thinking has manifested on what I guess you could call the human mainframe (or hive mind for those who believe that we are all interconnected) and as a result therefore becomes a reality, this may sound like some absurd claim but really this is what quantum physics is telling us (we create our own reality). If reality is complete then we're insignificant we can not change it but if reality is our possibility then our limits and potentials as humans are infinite. Todays society is in the wrong paradigm and unfortunately many people don't appreciate the power of our thoughts. There needs to be a shift in the old thinking and now we have to come to terms with the knowledge that we, even as an individual, have the power and influence to change even the smallest of things in our reality and that we start taking responsibility for our world instead of merely just accepting what is thrown at us. Simply by making these thoughts sets in motion waves of possibility that enter this mainframe and with enough thought power (or enough people thinking those thoughts) they manifest becoming reality. For example you could argue what about the buildings and trees you see and touch everyday...well maybe you only see them because you've been told they exist or that someone created that and once that was done it was imprinted on the mainframe becoming what we perceive as real, you see we as a collective are making these things real so therefore the possibility is there for actually saving our world merely from our thoughts, which is the most basic principle of reality. You don't have to believe me but just remember the power your mind has to shape reality.
Peace

I'm just now reading a book on this very subject of our thoughts creating our reality. Do you think that if enough of us 'thought' that the present PTB were not really here causing untold suffering to milions, stuffing up our planet and our lives, that we could 'think' them out of existence? This is not a facetious comment, I'm quite serious, and would be interested in some other views on this. Just in case this might work I'm going to spend a bit of time each day pretending they aren't here.

Well theoretically I guess it could be possible but highly unlikely. The problem with that is that these sort of things are imprinted on what I call the human mainframe. Like all the buildings and everything material you see in your life they exist because people have accpeted these things as being real and therefore they are. I do think it is important to take at least a few minutes each day to really think hard to yourself or through meditation about the things you want to manifest in your life. As I said, reality starts with a thought but putting mind over matter isn't as easy as it sounds but the basic principle of it all is very simple. Visualisation techniques and meditation are the best things in helping manifest your thoughts because you are more focused and the mind will be operating more sharply. Good luck

I think possibly you are taking too much of a departure here.
It is generally agreed that the world we "see" is an interpretation of input from our senses, and not a 1-to-1 image as you would find in a photograph or video screen. So it is quite likely that there is some degree of misinterpretation taking place here: we see many things because we expect to see them, or something similar. Sometimes those things we see are there, sometimes they are not.
But going from that to the opposite, that the world is entirely manufactured by our mind (or collective/majority mind as in your thesis), is a very large step. It seems to me that by trying to insist that some aspects of the world, the ones we do not like, do not in fact exist, will not remove those aspects.
What you are proposing seems like trying to replace the persuasion by others, which leads you to "see" a world which is not in precise correspondence with the "real" world, by your own presuasion, leading you to see a world which is the one you would like to have. There is no reason to assume that particular world-interpretation to better correspond to the real one. In fact I would argue that the chances for this are very slim - if you are successful, you will see precisely what you want, all the time. Change your mind about what you want, and the world changes, and you have lost all reality.

Yes I believe you are right that what we see is an interpretation of what really might be there and that varies for every individual. Just an example of something similar to this is the thought of love (most common refference) you might say love and that will be interpreted differently by each person depending on their experience of love. There's a general consensus in the spiritual dimensions that there are planes within planes within our reality and these operate under different brain frequencies, for example in waking life we operate under beta brain frequencies so we could call this channel 1 and we see everything we are capable of seeing within that frequency or vibration, the next channel is Alpha which is light meditation or daydreaming, the third (Theta) is associated with creativity, dreams and Extra-sensory perception and is believed to be the proper brain frequencies used for most deep psychic activities. Delta (channel 4) is associated with deep sleep, this pattern is very slow, however, this brain wave pattern is important for the explorer of consciousness , If you work to merge with the mass consciousness of our planet you need to work in delta, the first step will be to learn to be conscious in your dreams or lucid, you can do that!!!! you can go further in the exploration. Astral projection or Out of Body experience occurs in Delta. In this state you might see things and this is because those frequencies allow you to see them, as I said it's really just like changing the channel in your mind. I'm not going to go into this but for those interested I urge you to research for your own about astral projection and the like (if searching for astral projection you should also come across the seven spiritual planes that I mention briefly).
I'm not saying I believe that the world is entirely made up in our mind and this gets tricky to explain because it really depends how far down the rabbit hole you want to go with quantum physics. As one expert puts it "There is a physical reality which is rock solid yet it only comes into existence when it bumps up against some other piece of physical reality which provokes it into a particular state of existence"

I enjoyed reading this because I believe that our minds create reality far more than we realise, and that the realm of quantum physics starts to show us what is not only possible but occuring much of the time without our being conscious of it.
For some years I have been reading about spiritual dynamics that support this shift in consciousness to a new brighter more intelligent paradigm, and often the energetics involved to both suppport and create access to higher realms of thinking are reflected in the research within quantum physics.
Next year for the first time I am going to talk more publicly about this unique dynamic model known as the Reshel, that embraces ancient Hebrew and Celtic consciousness models. Workshops and study tours in Rosslyn for five days and a super trip to Norway to study Harald Boeke;s research into the pentagram in the landscape there (look out for his English translation soon)are available from April 2006 for those really interested in such energetics that are also linked to the sentience of the planet.
