Mesoamerican Ley Lines?

For my latest contribution @ the Intrepid blog, I enter the controversial territory of the Ancient Aliens theory, and discuss the content of a book which had a huge impact on me when I was a curious Mexican teenager.

The title of the book: UFOs and Mexico's Archeology.

Come explore with me.

I have been interested in the relationship between UFOs and Mexico's Archeology for well over 45 years. For things over 45 years ago, my memory is a little foggy. But, I probably started to get interested in my early teens, maybe earlier. Anyway I can't remember a time when I wasn't interested in the relationship between UFOs and the Archeology of Mexico, Central America, and South America!

Thank-you for the reference to "UFOs and Mexico's Archeology I'm going to find it and read it!

What do you think?

It is such a pity that the book didn't get reprinted, or translated to English :(

The first copy I had —the one I found in my uncle Fernando's library and *ehem* borrowed— was eventually torn to pieces because of all the times I kept re-reading it.

After a while I sought the help of an online book finder, and now I have a new complete copy :)

You need to get abducted more often, amigo! Seriously though, here's your life's work staring right at you, translating UFOs and Mexico's Archaeology to English, Reticulan, Venusian, Vegan...

and I'm pretty sure that "Ancient Aliens" will rip these guys off by using their work without acknowledging them.

After all, "Some researchers think..." that "Ancient Aliens" appears to be running short of material.

So in my opinion, you'd be doing these guys a favor by doing an English iBook version of their book. There are hand scanners and image joining programs available.

In the meantime, if you'd lke to post a Spanish translation of this somewhere, please do:

As far as the European "ley lines" go, my working hypothesis is that henge information was sent from site to site by signaling with fire.

Next week I'm attending the Paradigm symposium, organized by my friends Micah Hanks and Scotty Roberts. Giorgio 'the hair' Tsoukalos is going to attend as a speaker, along with Philip Coppens, and even the man himself --Erich Von Däniken.

If the topic is raised and I get a hint that they want to include this information for a new program, I'll be damn sure to demand they give full credit to Don Pedro Ferriz --who is still alive, and can be approached for an interview, though I don't know if he would be willing to give it to them-- and the late Christian Siruguet.

I'm afraid that engaging in a full translation of the book is at the moment out of the question. Though I think it's a project I shouldn't dismiss out of hand --after all, it took me all these years to finally draw the map on Google Maps, didn't it?

Though I think it would be much better if Don Pedro found the way to re-print the book, with translations to English and French.

Be sure to ask von Daniken about the earlier German researchers whose work he used without acknowledgement.

While it might not be that much "fun", it will help the UFO studies community.

I wasn't able to ask him anything, because (a) there were many people asking questions (b) I felt kind of intimidated by the fact that the Ancient Aliens brought their cameras to record his, Giorgio's and Philip Coppen's talks. And (c) The guy acts like a prima dona during these types of events.

And I was even willing to kiss his ass, and tell him that whether we agree or not with his ideas --or ideas that he might have 'borrowed' here and there ;)-- there's no denying the fact that his little book Chariots of the Gods changed the world. And nobody can't take that away from him.

Unfortunately, my 6 seconds of him lending me a slim amount of attention before he said "NEXT!", with his heavy German accent during the signing of autographs* were up :-/

(*)Yes, I did it: I bought one of his books, and ask him to sign it. Man, the guy started all this, and many of us wouldn't be involved with all this if we hadn't had some large or mild influence by him when we were young.
