What if the Confederates had won the US Civil War?

There have been a number of "alternative" histories written speculating what might have happened had the Confederacy won the Civil War.

To my knowledge, no one has considered the rise of the Neocons in terms of the Confederates winning the Civil War. Perhaps that may be an interesting framework for a mental exercise looking at current events here in the US.
