Long Island Medium and Randi

I was taken aback by the Wired article on mediums and cold reading. I agree that Edwards et al do engage in cold reading, but the Long Island Medium is in a class by herself as mediums go, and her hits are far too uncanny to be cold reads. All one has to do is watch a few of her episodes to see that she is not cold reading, and that her hits are not pre-rehearsed. She frequently comes up with details that astonish the person being read, and these details are not the result of some lengthy cold read series of questions and backs and forths. The detail is just blurted out sometimes just a few seconds into the read, There is no prompting or hinting.
I hope the Wired article will at least get more people to catch a few of her shows on television. They speak for themselves and anyone watching will be struck by how Randi has mischaracterized her performances. It will be an indictment of Randi by his own hand.
