Home, Home on the Web

I have been following this site for a couple months and feel I have found my web home! The links to the articles; sometimes silly, sometimes skeptical, always entertaining, are right up my alley. The humorous references are the best! (Although I laughed myself sick over the "rag on a stick" reference last week, I have no idea where it comes from or what it is a reference to, is it a cultural thing? )I love the science articles and am trying to wrap my brain around the string theory.

I look foward to having this blog to post some of my own weird ideas that often stem from links I have read on TDG. Has anyone else ever noticed the similarities of a solar system and an atom? Electrons orbiting a proton? Or how things in the universe seem to "breathe" or have a "heartbeat": the ebb and flow of the ocean, the theorized expanding and contracting of the universe, the global warming and cooling cycles of our planet, on and on . . .

Speaking of links and whole Yellowstone supervolcano thing, here is a link about more supervolcano stuff in the US:

http://www.sierratimes.com/05/03/13/volc...

It looks like this supervolcano is probably the cause of the massive New Madrid earthquakes in 1812 here in the states.

The rag on a stick reference is from The Simpsons...Bart has dreams of being extra obese and explains how he cleans himself. It is hysterical.
Looove The Simpsons.
Christ Almighty...did you think it was an Australian thing?
We gotta clean up our act.

Yes to most of your questions.
I am still trying to wrap my brain around just about any theory on this site.I have a theory that this is not a website at all, it is cult run by the "editors" here.
And I happen to be the one who collects the donations. All monies should be paid to my off-shore account.A standard tithe of 50% prevails.

Ahhh! I too love the Simpsons, but haven't kept up the last few years. Funny side note, a friend of mine (who is a TV director) from when I worked in TV in San Diego a few years ago is friends with the Simpsons creator. There is a character based on my friend, a "surfer dude" chain smoker with messy hair. I never did catch an episode with that character. I guess I was working too much!

Always love your comments, Shadows!

Cheers,

T A (hey, I kind of like that. Could be short for a lot of things!)

Thanks for the nice words T A.
I reckon The Simpsons is the best TV show ever made. There are probably a lot of people who would disagree with me but it is brilliant.
It handles every situation you could imagine and actually suggests moral outcomes.
And it is so funny.
Welcome to the madhouse here,it is a lot of fun.The thing I reckon is that you have to laugh to get through life and the people here make me laugh, so I love them.
You will too.

Now Shadows, I am one of those who would disagree with you on that. I hate the Simpsons. The Tick is a much better cartoon :)Hey and if your Tresurer can I be enforcer?
Oh and welcome TA you mirror my sentiments about this place.

Yep you can be enforcer, just as long as I handle all the money.
I haven't seen The Tick, don't watch much TV.I don't mind you not liking The Simpsons,as long as you collect the tithes every week.

You're a bit late for some of Jameske's best. One of his past 'Quotes of The Day' was:

Big bottom, Big bottom,
Talk about bum cakes,
My gal's got 'em.
Big bottom,
Drive me out of my mind.
How can I leave this behind?

At the time, I'd never seen 'This Is Spinal Tap', so in the comments section I asked, "Can we assume you just got laid?"

Another time, somebody or other was giving him a hard time over some news article he posted, and he replied something to the effect of, "I'm a he-bitch with a mangina." A semi-quote from another of his favorites, 'Deuce Bigelow: Male Gigalo'.

And all of us should get after him to repost his blogs from a year or two ago. How could anyone forget "Welcome To My Brain," or "The Kentucky-Fried Conspiracy"? Not to mention "Proteus Love" and "You Don't Exist Unless I See You". And more - all so good they should have been published as a collection. But apparently his muse is a fickle and flighty little fay. Humm, maybe we could take an indirect approach - get Cernig to do a little ceremony to woo her back. Yeah, that's the ticket!

Welcome,
Kat

Kat, I must have missed that one about bum cakes.I am sore in the stomach from laughing the past few days.My animals think I am mad.I will have to have a day off to recover.
That's hilarious.
I remember some of Jameske's rants and wonder why he doesn't do them any more.
So Jameske's a he-bitch. Wish I'd written that.
Can Greg put some of those rants back on?
I am waiting for poor Archdake to see your post about the weight lifting penis.
But I'll have to find some sort of tranquilliser first.

I own Spinal Tap as well as all the Christopher Guest movies - he is brilliant! Yes, please start a campaign for a reposting of some of Jameske's best rants!
