time to shed OPEC yoke?

when will we ever learn? OPEC gets richer while drivers get poorer.

the last time we had a gas crisis, didn't we say that we would pour millions into research in order to come up with alternative fuels? so why are we in a worse mess this time? and no alternative solutions in sight?

that there are alternative fuels.
The patents of some have been bought by OPEC and the others don't seem to ever see the light of day.

I read about people who are driving around the world on used cooking oil.They call into the local chippie and ask for the old oil left over from frying chips.
They said the vehicle runs beautifully and the nice smell makes them hungry all the time.
True.

Hi Terrence,

Opec getting richer ? i dont think so . The problem is that gasoline isnt a free market, there's no real competition. Every time prices rise, profits rise too and relativly by a bigger margin, haven't you noticed ? Now on top of that the speculators have entered the market, enormous amounts of money are to be made.
As for alternatives.. the best bet are electro magnetic motors, however they'd put the oil out of business, therefore little chance seeing anything coming out of that direction before the last billions have been extorted.
