Britain following Canada’s lead in releasing UFO files
Posted by Chris Rutkowski at 21:05, 07 Aug 2010Although many media outlets picked up on the story about Britain's MoD releasing yet more UFO docs, a few points need to be made in order to put it in perspective.
As reported by various news agencies, the British government has released another batch of files regarding UFOs, Held by the Ministry of Defence, the 5,000 pages in 18 separate files include correspondence from British citizens inquiring about UFOs and also reporting sightings to the MoD “UFO Desk.” The files cover the years between 1995 and 2003.
In Canada, similar files have been available for some time, and are accessible through the National Archives in Ottawa. Analyses of the Canadian UFO reports have been conducted since 1989 by the unaffiliated group Ufology Research, based in Winnipeg. Its annual studies of the numbers and distribution of UFO reports in Canada are available at: http://survey.canadianuforeport.com
A 20-year longitudinal study of Canadian UFO reports covering the years 1989 to 2008 used data on more than 8,500 UFO cases, including many sightings reported to government and military agencies such as National Defence, Transport Canada, NavCan and the RCMP.
The study can be accessed at: http://bit.ly/dk2pN9
British media are noting that in the case of England, “Reports of sightings of UFOs peaked in 1996 in the UK - when science fiction drama The X Files was popular.”
It should be noted that this was not the case in North America, where The X-Files TV show was produced and where it likely had the most influence. In both Canada and the United States, data shows that the number of UFO reports steadily increased during 1995 and 2003, dissimilar to the MoD results.
UFO sightings continue to be reported throughout the world in significant numbers. In Canada, the peak year was 2008, when more than 1,000 sightings were reported, and 2010 may reach a similar mark.
It should be noted that the large numbers of sightings do not prove alien visitation or mass hysteria. Most sightings can be explained or have insufficient information for conclusions but an approximately residual 5 per cent of unexplained cases each year suggests there is a real phenomenon worth studying in a scientific manner.
Finally, in response to a query from a reporter, I took a quick count of Canadian UFO reports received in July 2010 versus July 2009. Last year, the month of July saw 79 reports on file, but this year, July 2010 has more than 135 cases reported so far, and we're still getting them coming in. Almost a doubling of UFO case numbers in 2010? Hmmm.

Actually, this is probably a snow job. Something else is happening, and these governments are dusting off old UFO reports to misdirect our attention.

Everyone knows that foo fighters (Nov 44 - March 45) were enemy aircrafts, the United States got the technology from the Germans, close to the Harz town of Bad Sachsa a secret wunderwaffe program was operated. Still the broader public has no access to the technology, almost like the nuclear bomb or the jet engine technology though we have virtually no idea how the technology works.

Considering the foo fighters never actually managed to bring any Allied aircraft down during the war, calling them a wunderwaffe might be a bit of an overstatement ;)

Wunderwaffe (wonder weapon) is a propaganda term: advanced but immature technology, like the ME 262, the mini-u-boats, the V rockets... But in fact the United States terminated WWII with a Wunderwaffe, nuclear warfare, little and fat boy.

But even if we were to assume that the Nazis were developing some sort of radio-controlled body of charged plasma (the foo fighters) that were intended to cause a malfunction on the electrical systems of enemy aircraft, why haven't we seen further pursuit of those ideas in modern warfare?
The Nazis, on the other hand, were developing jet engines and rockets, and those were rapidly integrated into military technology.
Don't get me wrong, I also find the alleged links between Nazis and UFOs fascinating. But I still don't find them that conclusive.

Dognammit, I want a nuclear bomb!

Nucular bombs are too scary for me.
If I could just have a couple of jet engines for my next car. One for speeding up, and one for slowing down. Or maybe a rocket engine for slowing down in emergencies.
But am I allowed to drive such a security-oriented vehicle? Noooo.

Jet engines are cool, but MAD doesn't work so well with them. 'I raise you 10,000 jet engines, HA HA HA'. Its just not maniacal enough.
You can't really 'bring it' against any atoll's you don't like either. Arggghhhh, those atoll's.
Perhaps... there is an ethical dimension to it, but I just look at them as really big fireworks.

My mom always warned me to be careful with the big fireworks. Although she did enjoy a good new year's eve show as much as the next lady.
But I don't want to impress people, I just and to go and stop. So why can't I have jets and rockets? It would work.

Proof of a cover-up is easily shown by the fact that many sightings are by such people as airline pilots, policemen etc. if as the skeptics believe these people are having hallucinations etc. then an emergency investigation into the mental effect would be demanded as they would be putting many peoples lives at risk with their brain malfunctions.
As governments etc. see no necessity to do this research with priority, they already have the answer or are incompetent to the extreme.

Don't forget us geologists too. A quick check on google reveals the following hits
police+ufo = 4,130,000
pilot+ufo = 2,280,000
geologist+ufo = 232,000
We're 10% of the pilots admittedly, but we're good enough to put the jigsaw of crustal mechanics together so our eyes are pretty good.
Then again prostitute+ufo gets 306,000 - so they're winning at the moment. Somehow.
