Our theoretical and factual scientific research conclusion shows that:
a. Super-luminal travel is not required and does not happen.
b. Any highly-evolved, technologically sophisticated, advanced species will come to the understanding that only by creating, constructing and living within Artificial Planets can they be relatively safe from the dangers of space and have a truly viable alternative escape system!
c. Artificial Planets are designed to do at least two things: to travel away from any original stellar system that is unstable or any natural planet that has suffered a major cataclysm, and to enter into orbit of a system that has the right conditions for obtaining such things as fresh genetic tissue, etc...
d. Artificial Planets and their smaller spacecraft communicated by means of laser light pulses that are almost impossible to detect, as opposed to radio waves and other microwave emissions which would reveal their presence and endanger the psychological welfare and overall security of any other species that may then seek contact!
e. Appearing as small planets or asteroids these Artificial Planet mini-worlds are not perceived as being the current source of advanced alien visitors, which is why surface exploration, visual or more direct, will not likely yield evidence of the true contents of anything orbiting our Sun. Thus ETs are provided with the best means of avoiding detection.
