Lights Over Lake Erie
The earliest reports of strange lights over Lake Erie date back to the early 1800's. Newspaper clippings from that time report that people stood on the shore and observed glowing lights that they assumed was a horrible shipwreck, however, there was no wreckage and the people were baffled.
