Loom

Are we living in a simulation? With continued leaps in computer graphics technology, it seems more and more a real possibility. And as Exhibit A, I offer you Loom.

Not that this is a simulation that you want to be immersed in - created by the talented folk at Polynoid, Loom "tells the story of a successful catch". Arachnophobes may not want to press play...

Thanks RPJ!

Absolutely stunning CGI. I understand a remake of "Fantastic Voyage" is in the works; if they can bring this level of artistry and detail to that film, it would be remarkable.

Turning Brutality into Beauty, isn't it?

It's not the depth of the rabbit hole that bugs me...
It's all the rabbit SH*T you stumble over on your way down!!!

When quantum computers take over and the granularity of digital recreations is the same as the Planck length the simulations will have such absolute fidelity to the real that there will be no difference. If things get to that level of mimicry there could perhaps be space/time blips or wrecks where the resonance of the CGI objects is the same as the surrounding reality, and CGI will be a shamanic tool of great power and potential misuse.
