DMT Movie Clips
Posted by Greg at 11:54, 20 Apr 2009I've posted previously about the upcoming documentary DMT: The Spirit Molecule. Seems the movie is still being finished off, but for those interested in tasting the content, a bunch of interview excerpts have been posted to the doco's official YouTube channel. Among the 42 videos posted there you'll find the likes of Alex Grey, Rick Strassman, Stan Grof, Benny Shanon, Huston Smith, Daniel Pinchbeck, Ralph Metzner, Douglas Rushkoff, Erik Davis and Kat Harrison sharing their thoughts. Here's one of the most eloquent speakers on the subject, Graham Hancock, discussing the past and future of shamanic usage of hallucinogens:
Hopefully, the documentary is getting close to release - it's a great line-up of contributors. It would certainly be a great move if the DVD release features the unedited interviews with each of them.

Look at all those PhDs and MDs! It's a shame that people need to see a PhD before they take a topic seriously, but one of the biggest hurdles I see in informing others of psychedelics is the preconception of unwashed, unemployed hippies snorting leprechaun dust in dingy squats. It's ironic that we must break through public preconceptions so we can use psychedelics to break through our personal preconceptions. All I hope from this documentary is that it opens people's eyes to the fact that reasonable, mature people are researching and using psychedelics. It wasn't so long ago that I was one of those anti-drugs puritans blinded by negative and ignorant preconceptions of psychedelics and shamanic medicine.
What a fantastic line-up of speakers, I'm looking forward to this documentary with bells on.
