Reavers!!

Quote of the Day:

Our agents of culture are abdicating their responsibility to create more elevated tastes and capitulating to catering.

  1. My “Earthquake Dog”
The 9/7/2016 Pawnee, OK earthquake was felt very emphatically here in Fayetteville at our house, but more interesting was our Border Collie’s response which appeared to unfold about 30 minutes before the quake actually hit. My wife and I had been lolling a’bed in half sleep early that morning when Bonnie suddenly jumped up onto the covers in a manner that made us think a thunderstorm must be off in the distance which she, in her usual way, could hear long before we could and was therefore taking her predictable refuge in our bed burrowed in a close to us as she could get without penetrating our skin. We steeled ourselves for what would typically follow as the storm came nearer – Bonnie would contrive to figure out how to climb down our throats; but in this instance, without an approaching thunderstorm, she just stayed close and tense. In due time, the shockwave from the earthquake arrived and gave us the jolt.

We have all heard of animals anticipating earthquakes, but for it to be our animal was kind of thrilling.
Since there had been no thunderstorm, my first thought was that perhaps there had been a gradual vibrational buildup to the quake, and that Bonnie with her heightened canine senses had heard/felt that, but looking at the seismograph of the quake I see that it began quite abruptly with no seismic preamble, so what Bonnie reacted to was something much more obscure – perhaps radio waves or plasma generated microwaves emitted from the fault as its maximum stress-point was being approached, or perhaps something more supranormal.

  2. Geesh
“Things seem a whole lot simpler in the world according to conspiracy theories,”

As one of my old writing mentors and editors used to say when he read some back-assward cliche in a story – “that’s an oldie and a baddie.” It’s kind of like saying that journalism makes the world a whole lot simpler – of course I am here referring to actual journalism – not the thin gruel being shoveled out by the MSM these days. What we see all over the TeeVee now is simplistic in the extreme which partly explains why “mainstream news” channels are steadily losing viewers. These wholly owned corporate subsidiaries are “Ned and the 3rd Grade Reader” of “news.” How much more “simple” can you get than the completely unproven (and unproveable) notion that the “Russians interfered in our elections” which the MSM trumpets crazily 24/7 hoping that repetition will somehow make it true. The beauty of this development is that it shows just how compromised and impertinent the MSM has become. It would be hard to find a better in-your-face, emperor-has-no-clothes example of the perfidy of current news-making in America.

To wit, now that we have figured out pretty much how the 9/11 false flag op was done – the “simple narrative” turns out to be the one promulgated by the “interests” that enabled, fed and continue to feed at the pig-trough of opportunities financial, political, de-moral that were unleashed by that event. The yeoman’s work done over the years by a now large army of online researchers has proven that the more elaborate ops being staged for geopolitical purposes are never simple – mafias are not simple. It took a lot of evidence sifting to bring that nasty bit of stagecraft into focus. What has resulted is “simple” only in the sense that now we know how most of it was accomplished – and thanks to everyone who pitched in.

  3. Humans evolving to live in space…….
More likely, humans would be bioengineered/modified to live in space. The problem is that those individuals, and any offspring they bear, would never be able to return to Earth, or any other planet.

The 2 important things would be finding a way to protect vision, due to eye pressure and potential earl-onset glaucoma, and replacing bone density lost to a zero-G environment. Both need to be overcome before any really long term plans for space exploration (as in long periods in space) could be given serious consideration. There’s no point in building the 100-year starship if humans can’t thrive onboard.

Having said that, 2 things that WOULD be of use for such zero-G humans are replacing the feet with hands, and reversing the knee to flex rearward, like a deer or canine.

But yeah, it COULD be done. The question is whether a certain segment of our species would be willing to commit to such changes, and, of course, the ethical & moral considerations of condemning their children to such a restrictive life.

Perhaps the better solution is to work on the issues of bone density loss and eye pressures, while developing a practical artificial gravity system.
