Natural intelligence seems to be on the wane. And nature abhors a vacuum, so...

Quote of the Day:

Pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space, 'cause there's bugger all down here on Earth.

So it's now a self-entitled little brat like everyone else on Facebook. Great -_-

...I forgot how I got here but everyone seems to be heading off in that direction. I hope someone brought food. I have a feeling this is going to be a long journey................

The AI stuff will be a real problem. We will not need everyone to do the humdrum, boring jobs any more. You know, the jobs where you don't have to think much, you just kinda show up. Do it in your sleep kinda stuff. Where the only rewarding part is that "they" pay you for it.

Well, suppose they don't pay you for that any more. Then what? Seeing that you are not the only one this happens to, what to do. We can't have the likes of you on the barricades now can we, seeing that there are so many of you. If it was just a few, we could just... but there's not just a few. There will be many.

Where does all the production come from? Those dang foreigners with they cheap labor? Nope, can't blame them and even if we do, it won't help.

Guanteed minimum income, there is a comforting thought. Very attractive in many ways. But it can't be too minimum, otherwise you can't consume and you can't invest in yourself to get out of the minimum. Where does the money come from? Tax google and facebook and the rest for collecting your consumer data? Perhaps. If you use these free serices, in the words of Philip K Dick, you ARE the business.

Back during the last change of presidents (W -> Barrack), they actually agreed that it wasn't important who was at fault, it was more important that there is an economy.

Without any resolution, let's move on to the aliens. The real ones, you know, from other planets. There could be real value in finding some. People might wake up and consider that we are not the only life that matters, and then we could come to agreements on important things, and - I'm dreaming, sorry.

Just as I like the "asteroid alert" apps on phones and tablets. There are a bunch of asteroids coming close to earth every week. Well "close" is less than a million kilometers. I wish one of those would smash into Venus or the Moon, so that politicians wake up to a real risk. But again I'm dreaming.

A world governed by artificial intelligence sounds a lot like my old high school.

I had high hopes for the article...
I pointed out in a comment to a mis-statement of what Ayahuasca is comprised of (i.e. main ingredient) being the Yage Vine, and not DMT, and the comment disappeared.

Poor Form...
