Shaman cat: All I can think is, please don’t scratch the babies!

PKD: They should have explained the pink flash better. He had dental surgery and was in a catastrophic amount of pain, so his wife asked the doctor to write a prescription. The pharmacy delivered it. Dick answered the door and noticed the necklace (a Jesus fish if I recall?) around the messenger’s neck. A pink beam of light shown into his eyes from it and he was thus seemly linked with the other side. And I wouldn’t describe him being a Roman warrior as something that happened in another dimension, but more likely a past life.

Where do they get these scientists who pay no attention whatsoever – or perhaps just pretend not to – to what has happened in the field of spirit detection where all sorts of very legit instrumentation exists for capturing supernatural activity? And has captured such activity very unambiguously.
The writer’s parting shot says it all about his qualifications to hold forth on the subject:

“It is at the horizon where the known meets the unknown that we are tempted to inject paranormal and supernatural forces to explain hitherto unsolved mysteries, but we must resist the temptation because such efforts can never succeed, not even in principle.’

      Uh-huh.

      1. Shermer is decidedly close minded.
