Quote of the Day:

Alpha children wear grey. They work much harder than we do, because they’re so frightfully clever. I’m awfully glad I’m a Beta, because I don’t work so hard. And then we are much better than the Gammas and Deltas. Gammas are stupid.

Aldous Huxley, Brave New World

  1. news…again
    Pluto: I still consider it a planet. It has never left my heart.

    J.K. Rowling: I have to side with the Native American historian on this one. Rowling is at risk of confusing young readers who look up to her for factual information. Saying that a legendary monster such as a skin-walker is anything else can lead to confusion. Youngsters especially, because you can not guarantee they will Google search the right thing. And they sure as hell aren’t going to research it themselves. As someone who has researched many legends and myths from around the world, paying great attention to Native American stories, I do find what Rowling is doing here offensive if only because it blocks real knowledge of the subject. This isn’t like when the Church was calling it evil and Satanic, where the Church was clearly dumb for trying. This is real history being slandered and misinformed to many young minds. I encourage any child to dismiss what others tell you and go research it yourself please.

    Penguin: Awwww why you gotta be feels this early in the morning ;_;

    1. Can’t Avoid the Plutoid
      It seems that the ancient Cosmologists/Mythographers characterized Pluto and Charon as Anu’s (Neptune’s) missing “balls” after he was attacked (and castrated) by Kumarbis. They sure understood the value of a potent mnemonic. I bet you won’t be able to forget that one now. Of course these myths date back to a time when women had to be prohibited from helping their man out when he got into a fight (by sneaking around and maiming the other dude’s testicles). Now, that’s what I call a committed relationship! That is actually one of the laws of Moses, no BS!!

    1. animals to sleep
      I have a friend that can make any animal go to sleep as well, they always act calm towards him. I just think that some humans give off a different energy than most and some humans, especially this monk, can calm their own minds and chi enough that the animals don’t react. Buffalo react to quick movement and he is not making any threatening postures toward them. Not to mention they are right near a road, so they are used to much worse noise than thus. It’s also a hot summer day in California. I can see some of the buffalo still haven’t shed their winter coats, so it’s a little hot for them. Both alpaca and bison are cold temperature animals more than hot (alpaca coming from mountains) so with the hot summer day I wouldn’t be too sure if they were lying down because if the heat. We don’t know how long it took the monk from when he started to when they started lying down because the footage was edited down for the program. If it took any longer than five minutes I would say they were all just too hot. Come back during rut (breeding season) and do it and then I will believe. So to conclude, while I do believe a human is capable of controlling his chi but for this I wonder if the animals are just bored and hot.

  2. Smartest Humans
    Lately, I’ve been thinkin’, thinkin’ about the Peace Train …

    Actually, no, I’ve been thinkin’ about what happened to our big brains and why humans are now such ‘terds. We are definitely not the smartest hominoids to have walked the planet. Other species such as Homo Antecessor and Cro-Magnon would have run circles around us, physically and intellectually. So, why were we programmed to be weaker and dumber? Was ET tired of Cro-Magnon’s “evil ways”? Was ET taking the training wheels off Planet Earth and had to make sure we didn’t immediately crash and burn? In other words, did they dumb us down to teach us some humility and allow us to make little mistakes rather than big ones? Did they know that by the time we figured out how to make ourselves smart again we would also have acquired some maturity? Or did they just need to keep humans around as genetic stock for the next experiement?
