“To different minds, the same world is a hell, and a heaven.”

Quote of the Day:

“What is a weed? A plant whose virtues have yet to be discovered.”

R. W. Emerson

  1. Fossilized screw
I always believed is was a sea creature. Why do people need to immediately jump to aliens as the conclusion? I don’t care how advanced a civilization is, there is no metal that can survive the repeated beatings of Nature for 300 million years. No. Just no. Most metal that is flexible enough to be molded into a screw like tool would rust and decay long before the fossilization process begins. Any exposure to water and salt and it’s doomed. And just because it may not be anything you’ve ever seen before doesn’t mean it’s alien. It means maybe a new species. I don’t know, maybe it’s because I live near the sea and collect a lot of fossils, but “alien” is never the conclusion I jump to first.
