Greg: 'This brings all sorts of wonderful visuals to my mind.'
Mine too (only none of 'em're 'wonderful') of hordes of handkerchief-hatted Mr Gumby dinosaurs lying on their backs with empty plates balanced atop their swollen midriffs roaring "I wan' more BEANS!!!"
AAH!

I love it how even though modern Science might accept that these people might have enhanced or special abilities that the rest of us don't possess, it's still has to be perceived --see what I did there?-- as nothing more than a 'colorful' trait, but nothing more.
And yet why can't the researchers try to find if there's actually a correlation between the color of a patient's 'aura' as perceived by the synesthetes, and said patient's general well-being? Maybe a sick person would show a grayer or gloomier hue compared to a healthy one.

could it be that most of the science that is being filtered to us comes from the USA, a puritan, conservative, protestant (=for something to be important, it has to have a use) collection of mini countries?
