What a fascinating world.
There are many who say that we have become too Mars-centric and that we've neglected so many other worlds in our own solar system because we're hung up on an ancient belief that life exists on the red planet.
This evokes a love/hate relationship with that concept because I both agree and disagree. Yes, we have this marvelous system of planets and moons that deserve more of our attention but, no, Mars shouldn't bear the scarlet letter because it carries a good share of the glory.
One voice means nothing today but I do feel we are sinning against our own kind by cutting back on exploration... both manned and robotic.
Someday, those who, in their infinite political wisdoms, failed to extend our kind further because of the bean-counters and milkweed-milkers, will have an accounting to attend on this issue.
"The power of accurate observation is frequently called cynicism by those who don't have it."
