Substituting for Jameske today, I can think of no better intro than The Simpsons as philosophy.

Quote of the Day:

In our age there is no such thing as ‘keeping out of politics.’ All issues are political issues, and politics itself is a mass of lies, evasions, folly, hatred and schizophrenia.

  1. Great pics of giants
I met the bloke from Pakistan in Brisbane at Expo 88.He was a lovely man, so gentle and kind.
It must be difficult for them living in a shorter world.I know it is difficult for me being so short in a taller world.
The cylindrical seal from Dezful is stunning. They sure had style in those days.
And yes, I drink a fair amount of coffee, but these days it is decaf or I would be flying all day.
Interesting link that one about the coffee.
    And an excellent quote.
I could come here just for the quotes alone.
    Well done, Kat.

    1. cylindrical seal
      >>Well done, Kat.

      Thanks, shadows.

      >>The cylindrical seal from Dezful is stunning. They sure had style in those days.

I also thought this ‘seal’ was quite interesting, but I think they got the description wrong. A lion’s head? Looks more like a goat’s head to me.

        1. Lion dog of China
Looks to me like a Lion dog of China – it doesn’t have either a horse or a lion type tail, and the feet would seem to me to have both toes and claws.

          Regards, Kathrinn

  2. yet again i’m confused
Cylindrical seal……..cows, goats, sheep and pigs have split hooves or two toe’s per leg. Horses have a single, almost round hoof.
Quote from the artical below. And yes I know camels, lhmas and alphaca’s do to.

“Another interesting thing about this design is that the hooves are round not cracked,”

    1. griffin?
looks like a classic Griffin, eagles head and wings, lions body with eagles talon on the back legs. Although it looks like it has horns which is ungriffin-like I think

    2. Cylindrical seal

It’s a Sphinx. One would have to see their zodiac to determine the icons. The cardial points at some event just as the Sphinx in Egypt marks Zep Tepi.
