  1. David Attenborough
The BBC have just screened the first episodes of the new David Attenborough series, Planet Earth, which has had me glued to the TV every Sunday night for the last 5 weeks.

The footage that has been taken is simply breath-taking, and they’ve managed to film superb sequences of some of the rarest animals on earth; it makes you feel quite privileged just watching it.

At the end of every episode they have a 10 minute “Diaries” slot, which shows you what the film crews had to do to get the amazing footage. In some cases, some of the world’s top wildlife cameramen were hired for months at a time; sitting alone on isolated mountain slopes in order to capture a minute’s worth of film of, for example, the snow leopard (only around 40 estimated to survive in the wild!)

I don’t know if the show is already being screened worldwide, but for those of you not in the UK, when it hits your screens be sure not to miss it. Along with the last “Blue Planet” series, it is the best wildlife program I’ve seen.
