Forget fossil fuels – I think if we plugged Chris Cornell’s mic into the grid we could power a few small countries…

Quote of the Day:

Most animals, including most domesticated primates (humans) show a truly staggering ability to “ignore” certain kinds of information – that which does not “fit” their imprinted/conditioned reality-tunnel. We generally call this “conservatism” or “stupidity”, but it appears in all parts of the political spectrum, and in learned societies as well as in the Ku Klux Klan.

the focus on what “fits” your preception of the world is not just political.

I is quite likely a function of having to pay attention to threats, to potential prey, and to potential veggies that might be edible.

So once we have decided, however tentatively, on a course of action that seems very reliable, we have a tendency to fight what can throw us off this course.

There is a good reason for this – if we try to evaluate every little item of information, and the re-evaluate out life history and future directions at every minute, then we will be incapable of making any decisions.

So we have no choice except to go on what has appeared to be good assumptions in the past.
