A quick summary of the updates to the Phenomena website over the past week, not as much as usual but still interesting fare:

Also on site are the daily news briefs and assorted other articles.

  1. Phenomena is going, going…
I fear Phenomena is going to lose, unless those who own her awaken and get serious about the publication. Lead, follow or get out of the way.

        1. Unearth OMNI Magazine…
I miss Omni Magazine. It was the best for many years…full of good stuff and well designed. I loved the graphics and wish someone would do it again. I need a fix that cannot be found anymore. Omni kept me thinking. If Greg could incorporate graphics with some of his articles, and I could do the same with some of mine, we might approach the feeling that Omni once gave many of us old timers. OH well, I had such great hopes for the rag, but no. Graham Hancock could back something good but no…he will ride his old site out the back door. Are there any young folks who have the wherewithall???

I wish we had some of John Kerry’s money…or his wife’s.

Actually, Bill Gates would be a great one to back a zine like Omni.

            Hi Oscar,

I’ve seen you reference OMNI magazine on several occasions. I’ve heard of it but I have never seen a copy.

            Why did it fail?

            Bill

          2. Why did it fail??? Who really knows?
Omni was wonderful for about ten years…it went all out and gave the public everything it could. I remember that after about eight years, it began to change format and offered up a lot of “fluffy” articles to try to expand its readership. I think that might have been its problem in the end. I know I started to buy fewer and let my subscriptions go. There is a place for fluffy stufffffffff…and there is a place for serious thinking.

By the by, I just got my new Phenomena Magazine…it looks very good. I sure hope they do not let it die but invest into a good ad sales staff and get that thing going. Robin, you did very well. I especially like pages 37 and 42. GREAT ART!!!

            Oscar.
