Anonymous Commenting Update

A quick heads-up: I have once again disabled anonymous commenting here on the Daily Grail, as we were receiving masses of nonsense comments (likely part of a bot-net communication system). So if you want to say something here, you'll have to join up.

I really like to know with whom I'm having a discussion. Excellent news.

I had this trouble with a Drupal site once. Just install a CAPTCHA system. Then you get the best of both worlds: Anonymous posting AND no botnets.

I am an advocate of the free voice on the web. In general, I do not think that mandatory memberships offer the membership any distinct advantage. But in the same breath, I have seen some of the 'Anonymous' abusers here recently and cannot (and will not) argue with the decision.

It is a simple matter of personal accountability and responsibility. Color my opinion on this issue... in flux.

My name is Mike... have a great day :)

The bots are a real problem. I don't know if they are just a bunch of immature people running these, or if there is a conspiracy to sabotage free speech.

We are the cat.

I don't understand why...or who benefits from setting the bots up to infiltrate random websites? Anyone else know?

Sometimes we get what we need instead of what we want.
