Maybe they were made with a mold and a lava stream. It would explain why they are limbless - to commemorate the injured builders.

Another total eclipse happened exactly 19 years before this one, on Mexico city. That eclipse was very important, because it marked the beginning of a major UFO flap on my country.

So I'm kind of expecting to hear news of UFO activity in Chile in the days to come :)

I also remember hearing about some History Channel program that seemed to link Eastern Island with the 2012 Mayan prophecy, and I believe it had something to do with this last eclipse. Did anyone see it?
